Homemade Orange Cake
Fresh little tangy flavored cake best for refreshment at afternoon time snack.
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Baking time: 30 minutes
- Eggs – 2
- Refined wheat flour (Maida) – 2 cups
- Baking powder – 2 tsp
- Sugar – 1 cup
- Butter – ½ cup
- Fresh orange juice – 1 cup (I have taken 4 oranges)
- Salt: ½ tsp (In case of using unsalted butter)
- Orange rind – 1 tsp
- Butter: 2 tbsp
- Orange Juice: 10 ml
- Icing sugar: 4 tbsp
First of all, take the juice and some rind of fresh oranges. Keep them aside.
Now melt the butter and mix in sugar powder in a mixing bowl. Mix them properly and then add eggs. Blend them until it becomes creamy and fluffy. Add flour, baking powder, and orange juice and now fold it softly and make a fine creamy paste of it. And lastly, add orange rind and fold them.
Preheat the oven at 180 ºC. Grease the baking dish with butter and dust some flour on the dish, so the cake will not stick on it. Pour the mixture into a baking dish.
Bake it about for 30 35 minutes. Take toothpick test; if the cake is ready, remove it from the oven.
Now mix icing sugar, butter, and orange juice and put it on medium heated water bowl. Stir the mixture properly and make a fine, thick paste. Decorate the cake with this paste.
Cut the cake into big pieces and enjoy the tangy flavor of it.
